There is always a perfect Taylor Swift song to sing along to in whatever kind of situation you may be. In love? There are tons you can belt out to set loose all that rage or while pining over that someone. Moving on? There are lots that will inspire you to finally take that one step forward.

And just like in real life, there are Taylor Swift songs that fit perfectly with the stories of some of our K-drama OTPs that we have come to love.

Ri Jung Hyuk x Yoon Se Ri

Crash Landing on You, Netflix

Perfect Taylor Swift song for this OTP: Love Story

“Romeo, save me, they’re tryna tell me how to feel

This love is difficult, but it’s real

Don’t be afraid, we’ll make it out of this mess

It’s a love story, baby, just say, ‘Yes’”

Ri Jung Hyuk and Yoon Se Ri are modern-day star-crossed lovers who are fated to meet but somehow a certain situation gets in the way. This echoes a strong Romeo and Juliet vibe whose young, poignant love was unfortunately hindered by their families’ dispute. CLOY’s ill-fated love story is a take that is a notch higher than the Shakespearean tragedy… because more than the unsurpassable wall that stands between two feuding families, what hinders Jung Hyuk and Se Ri is one that divides a nation.

But, as in any great love stories, love conquers all, and Jung Hyuk and Se Ri did conquer all the obstacles that tried to break them and still found a way to be together in the end.

Park Sae Ro Yi x Jo Yi Seo

Itaewon Class, Netflix

Perfect Taylor Swift song for this OTP: You Belong with Me

“If you could see that I’m the one who understands you

Been here all along, so why can’t you see

You belong with me”

Closer than a friend, but not enough to be more. This was Jo Yi Seo’s dilemma with Park Sae Ro Yi who was either too busy building his dreams—hopefully beating food giant Jangga Co. in the process—or being too hung up on someone else. But even though the latter has chosen to turn down her feelings for him, Yi Seo stood her ground—thanks to her tenacity and stern belief in the fact that they are made for each other—until finally came the day when Sae Ro Yi saw for himself that he indeed belongs with her.

Jung Joon Hyung x Kim Bok Joo

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Netflix

Perfect Taylor Swift song for this OTP: Gorgeous

“You’re so gorgeous

I can’t say anything to your face

‘Cause look at your face

And I’m so furious

At you for making me feel this way

But, what can I say?

You’re gorgeous”

One of the dilemmas Bok Joo faced in being a weightlifting athlete was losing her feminineness, and this troubled her all the more as she got close to Joon Hyung. Like who wouldn’t be, right? To be in a relationship with someone with a god-like face and statue-esque body—someone’s bound to be conscious. But all her insecurities were thrown out of the window as Joon Hyung made an effort for her to see that he was head over heels for her ultra adorable charm.

Wang So x Hae Soo

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, SBS

Perfect Taylor Swift song for this OTP: Red

“Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes

Tell myself it’s time now, gotta let go

But moving on from him is impossible

When I still see it all in my head

In burning red”

Tragic. Perhaps this is the word that comes to those who have witnessed Wang So and Hae Soo’s love. Their complex story was full of ups and downs, missed timings, and wrong choices that it was more often that we have seen them giving up on each other than the times that they actually fought to be together. But even though there were times that the human in them made them surrender to the circumstances, there was still a place in their hearts where they treasure the ardent love they have for each other.

Here’s to still hoping that they did find each other again in the future.

Lee Gon x Jung Tae Eul

The King: Eternal Monarch, Netflix

Perfect Taylor Swift song for this OTP: King of My Heart

“Late in the night, the city’s asleep

Your love is a secret I’m hoping, dreaming, dying to keep

Change my priorities

The taste of your lips is my idea of luxury”

Being deeply in love with a royalty can be royally painful as it comes with responsibilities, sacrifices, and sometimes life-threatening risks; and Lee Gon and Jung Tae Eul are no strangers to this. Their already complicated love story made an even more complicated arc with parallel universes and time-bending dilemmas thrown in between them. But Lee Gon and Tae Eul endured and faced everything, proving that their love transcends time and universes.

Moon Gang Tae x Ko Moon Young

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Netflix

Perfect Taylor Swift song for this OTP: Daylight

“I don’t wanna look at anything else now that I saw you

I don’t wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you

I’ve been sleepin’ so long in a twenty-year dark night

And now I see daylight, I only see daylight

A dark, traumatic past defined how Ko Moon Young saw the world, and it is a rather bleak and gloomy sight. That is until Moon Gang Tae—and of course, his brother—entered her life. What started out as an obsession slowly turned into a beautiful connection that helped them break free from the shackles of their dark, intertwined past and eventually healed each other’s wounds, letting them see life in a new, brighter light with a hopeful future.
