If we didn’t before, we certainly do now after watching The Sound of Magic, a musical K-drama that depicts how magical a person’s life can get if we just learn to let the magic in. Watching the show was a roller coaster ride; sometimes it brings us down with its heartbreaking situations, infuriating villains, and tiresome idealisms; and then it raises us up with its moving and soul-stirring scenes and of course, its spectacular magic.

Each character made a mark on us. We were saddened by how tough life was for Ah Yi. We understood the baggage that Il Deung has to live with. We were heartbroken by Lee Eul’s past. Their situations and tragedies also reflect our own, one way or another; hence, we somehow felt connected to them.
